In some workstations the presence of an

HBA may cause the workstation to get a bus

timeout after being powered on. For

example, an HBA in HP J6750 workstation

can cause the system to hang at boot time.

The following panel messages were

observed during the system boot:

Panel messages include:

CBF0 HPMC initiated

500B Bus timeout

CBF1 No OS HPMC IVA

CBFC OS HPMC bus error

The HP system will time out the PCI slot of the HBA before the

HBA completes POST. Resolve this issue by configuring the

system using the Service Menu/Monitor to increase the PCI

BUS Time Out value to 500ms.
